Asset Management Intern

Overview
The Asset Management Intern will support the Asset Management Team in the day-to-day operations of the department. This includes lease review, project due diligence, market research, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, reporting, and administrative support. Essential Duties
Support Asset Management Team in regular oversight of properties in the portfolio including:
  • Review of leasing reports, demographic reports, market studies, and financial statements to identify drivers of performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with the preparation of property summaries and financial models in Yardi and Excel to assist Asset Managers with annual and long-range financial planning.
  • Provide market research for portfolio assets using CoStar, ESRI Business Analyst, and other reliable sources.
Required Qualifications
  • Must have strong analytical and financial modeling skills using Excel.
  • Willingness to develop skills with CoStar and Yardi.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop a rapport with colleagues from a variety of professional backgrounds, including property management, brokerage, finance, and accounting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information.
  • Requires basic knowledge of real estate and financial terms (IRR, NPV, ROI), principles, and modeling.
  • High proficiency in Excel is required.
Education
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, or related field. 

Physical Demands
Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.  The employee will be regularly required to sit; stand; walk; reach using feet, legs, back, arms and hands; talk and hear.  The employee may occasionally be required to climb.  The employee will be required to work at a personal computer and talk on the phone for extended periods of time.  Must possess the ability to detect auditory and/or visual alarms and be available to work extended/flexible hours and weekends, as needed.
